These skills will help to break down any barriers and make the service user feel at ease. A barrier could be that one of the staff members may not like one of the other members of staff. To overcome this they will have to understand and have mutual respect for each other. Staffs have to be wary of things that are going on around them. By being wary they are taking responsibility for their own actions and words. It would be a lot easier if everyone could get along and understand each other therefore communication would not be a problem. Everyone would be able to express how they feel and what their individual thoughts are without hesitating. In care settings staff should help service users to express how they are feeling and what they are thinking.
